About the Course

This training is designed to fulfill the 245i—05 Minnesota DHS requirements for Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS). The purpose of the training mandated under Section 245i is to ensure that staff providing direct contact services to clients are thoroughly equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. This training is designed to enhance the understanding of various aspects of client care, including recognizing and responding to maltreatment, adhering to legal requirements for confidentiality and privacy, and effectively handling emergencies. It also focuses on developing a deep comprehension of each client's specific needs, encompassing their mental, physical, and developmental conditions. For those working in mental health, the training is further extended to include specialized knowledge in mental illnesses, de-escalation techniques, and understanding the nuances of co-occurring disorders. The training emphasizes the importance of trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practices, and person-centered treatment planning. This ensures that staff are technically proficient, sensitive, and responsive to their clients' diverse backgrounds and experiences, ultimately fostering a more supportive and effective therapeutic environment. The 245I training consists of 20 individual courses, each containing an average of 6 modules, totaling approximately 55 hours of self-paced video lessons.
